    - Winterization:

         Outer Cover:  Metal Telescoping Cover

         Bottom Board: closed with mite board

         Top Insulation: above inner cover has  3" of polystyrene

         Moisture System: Above the inner cover is 2" of polystyrene that has a 1/2" x 3/8" dado located on the southside heading north to the elongated hole in the inner cover. Above the 2" insulation is 1" insulation.

         Wrap:  Bee Cozy over Colony Quilt (R 11.7)

         Upper Entrance : currently closed

         Lower Entrance : 3/8" x 5/8"

Notes:

- 11/20/23:   winterized colony -  upper entrance is closed. Will open to 1/2" x 3/8" at some point during winter; Will add ¾” x ¾” shim when bees are up

12-10-23  OAV treatment 20 mites dropped.

1-25-24 Bees located on south 6 frames 6” in, fed a sugar brick .40 Lbs.

2-27-24 Half of the 1-25 brick used, fed another sugar brick .40 Lbs.

            Cleaned mite board

3-3-24 Bees were flying using lower entrance, open feeding dry pollen in the yard
